Paints for Charlie: Man sells pet portraits to raise money for doggy cancer treatments
Charlie is a boxer who is battling lymphoma. And his owner, Shaun Mitchell, wants him to have the best treatments possible while fighting the disease.
“Shaun, Charlie’s dad, is a talented artist and is putting his artistic talents to work to help raise money to pay for Charlie’s cancer treatments,” the Facebook description reads.
To raise money for his companion’s cancer treatments, Shaun has started selling custom paintings of other people’s pets.
The standard painting comes on an 8×10 canvas, but custom sizes are available for purchase. The paintings are typically sold for $40, but while people have requested human portraits, those are more expensive.
To order a painting, all you have to do is email Shaun, at firstname.lastname@example.org, a few photos of your precious pet, along with how many paintings you’d like, your location, and if you need it by a specific date.
The Facebook page says, “Currently with the amount of orders he has received, the lead time is between 3-8 weeks, possibly longer, but he’s working as fast as he can to get these out to everyone.”
And if you’re a bit nervous about it, not to worry. Payment isn’t due until the painting is finished and ready to be picked up or shipped.
